Prato pilot targets textile labour exploitation

PRATO – Italian authorities have placed a Chinese textile entrepreneur under house arrest in Prato as part of a significant operation against labour exploitation.

The probe has revealed that even prestigious labels, often claiming ‘Made in Italy’ status, have relied on supply chains where migrant workers from China and Pakistan endure extreme hours and unsafe environments.
