Increased heat stress in Cambodian garment sector

PHNOM PENH – Heat stress has become an immediate risk for Cambodia’s garment, footwear and travel goods sector and is already affecting working conditions and the sector’s long-term competitiveness, says a new sustainability recommendation paper.

The paper, Mitigating Heat Stress in the Garment, Footwear, and Travel Goods Sector, was produced by GIZ’s Fabric Cambodia project with Better Factories Cambodia, the ILO, and the Global Labor Institute.
