A new study suggests that removing colour from dye wastewater does not always make it safer
KYOTO – Researchers have warned that toxic compounds remain in dye wastewater even after decolourisation.
They found that anaerobic decolourisation of the textile dye Reactive Black (RB5) carried out by a bacterium from constructed wetlands (Clostridium) could even raise biotoxicity levels.
