AFC proposes next-gen manufacturing facility

New study to assess feasibility of next-gen apparel manufacturing facility in Australia

NEW SOUTH WALES – The Australian Fashion Council (AFC) has commissioned a feasibility study to build a ‘first-of-its-kind’ Clothing Smart Factory, which would shorten supply chains for Australian brands and reduce waste and water use.

The study brings together a research group from SMIT, Swinburne University of Technology and the University of Technology Sydney and combines expertise across advanced manufacturing and textile technology.
