Most EU apparel and textile businesses lack supplier data for digital product passports as ESPR deadlines approach, new survey warns
AMSTERDAM — More than three-quarters of apparel and textile companies are still unable to populate effective digital product passports (DPPs) because they lack comprehensive supplier data, even as EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) deadlines draw closer, according to a new survey.
New research from DPP platform provider Provenant and parent company Protokol, based on 61 business managers using a DPP readiness tool between April 2025 and March 2026, found that only 23% were collecting comprehensive data from their suppliers.
