Study introduces a biopolymer-based, metal-free dye fixation process that claims to deliver tougher, longer-lasting plant-dye colours on functional textiles with far lower wastewater impacts
TANGSHAN/LEEDS – Researchers have developed a metal-free fixation process which claims to improve the colour fastness and environmental performance of natural plant dyes in textiles without worsening functional properties.
The study, in the International Journal of Materials and Product Technology, aims to address longstanding challenges in sustainable textile colouration.
