Taiwan advances on migrant fee repayments

Transparentem says Taiwan’s textile sector has repaid $4.4 million to migrant workers, but delays, partial payments and limited brand and government support still hold back full remediation

NEW YORK – Transparentem’s latest report on Taiwan’s textile industry notes strong momentum in repayments for migrant workers, yet challenges remain – including a lack of full support from brands and countries.

Hundreds of migrant workers from Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam were owed nearly $8.3 million in recruitment fee reimbursements.
