Newly updated French ecoscore analysis finds raw materials account for the largest share of garment environmental impacts
AMSTERDAM — Raw material acquisition and processing account for 45% of average environmental impact scores in France’s textile ecoscore database, making them the largest lifecycle contributor, according to updated analysis by the 2B Policy advisory group.
Manufacturing represented a further 34% of average impact. Together, the two upstream stages accounted for almost four-fifths of the environmental cost calculated across the database. The report analysed 36,860 products from 89 contributors.
