UN urged to address Xinjiang labour concerns

LONDON – The Coalition to End Forced Labour in the Uyghur Region has called on the United Nations (UN) to push China to investigate allegations of forced labour in Xinjiang.

It urges the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to publicly report on the status of a 2022 assessment’s recommendation that China investigate allegations of forced labour – pointing to evidence that alleges state-imposed forced labour has intensified in the years since.
