Allied reports lower down-processing emissions

MONTEBELLO – Apparel insulation specialist Allied Feather + Down has reported that cradle-to-gate processing at its facility in Hangzhou, China, produces 0.48kg CO2e per kilogram of down, 85% below its estimated industry benchmark of 3.2kg CO2e per kilogram for conventional down processing.

Conducted by supply chain carbon specialist Green Threads DPP, the audit also showed that the CO2e levels were 57.9% lower than the 1.14kg CO2e per kilogram figure cited for recycled down in the European product environmental footprint database.
