Vietnam’s textile and garment sector is facing a labour supply crisis, exposing a widening gap between wages and workforce availability

With direct production lines operating significantly below design capacity, local exporters are struggling to fulfill large-scale orders.

HO CHI MINH CITY – Recent statistics from Vietnam's Employment Service Centre highlight the problem: for the month of August, the region’s garment, textile, leather, and footwear industries registered a demand for 3,558 positions, but only 1,420 job seekers were looking for work.

For Vietnam’s export-driven textile and garment ecosystem, bridging this human capital gap requires more than monetary compensation above the legal minimum.
