ChemSec has warned of an incoming PFAS “tidal wave” as top producers increase production to meet AI and electric vehicle demand

GOTHENBURG – A new report from safer chemicals NGO ChemSec says the world’s top PFAS producers are ramping up production in a race to meet growing demand from data centres and semiconductor manufacturing.

The expansion is responding to the AI boom and growth in electric vehicles and cooling systems. PFAS are valued for data centre infrastructure, semiconductor manufacturing and lithium-ion battery materials.
