Cornell research finds factory cooling could curb heat stress and repay its cost within four years

ITHACA – New research from the Cornell Global Labor Institute (GLI) claims cooling investment in Dhaka’s apparel factories could pay for itself within four years by improving productivity and reducing dangers to workers’ health.

The research, Six seasons, four summers: Inside fashion’s high heat problem and how to solve it, collected data from electronic temperature and humidity sensors in eight factories and 37 workers’ homes and combined it with engineering assessments.
