New fashion coalition targets climate finance

Amazon, Stella McCartney and Canopy launch a coalition to advance lower-carbon materials and manufacturing at commercial scale

NEW YORK — More than 60 fashion industry stakeholders, including Amazon, Stella McCartney and Canopy, have laucnhed a new initiative aimed at helping to finance and adopt lower-carbon materials, manufacturing technologies and supply chains.

The Climate Pledge Fashion Coalition,  launched with support from the World Economic Forum, forms part of The Climate Pledge, launched by Amazon and Global Optimism in 2019, in which 700-plus corporate signatories commit to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.
