Kraig Labs ships first spider silk yarn

ANN ARBOR — Kraig Biocraft Laboratories has shipped its first commercial order of recombinant spider silk yarn for development into a performance textile by an unnamed global sports brand.

The custom-processed yarn fulfils a purchase commitment under a confidential pilot programme. Kraig Labs said the volume was deliberately small and declined to identify the customer or disclose the order’s value.
