BCI reports chart uneven cotton progress

GENEVA — Two new reports from the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) show reduced farm inputs among many growers, but continued reliance on highly hazardous pesticides in the country supplying most of its cotton.

Its first Global Impact Report in five years records reductions in synthetic pesticide active ingredients per hectare among 65% of farmers since joining, with an average reduction of 25% among those improving.
