Textile auditor questions linger after China mill fire

BRUSSELS – Amfori has published its first substantive findings from a review of the BSCI audit carried out at Fujian Huiteng Shoes before a fire killed 28 workers in July, saying it found no evidence that the audit misrepresented conditions observed at the time.

However, the organisation confirmed that a separate examination of possible gaps in auditor professional conduct or independence remains ongoing.
