AMSTERDAM – Garment workers in supply chain countries across South and Southeast Asia received 38 per cent less pay than their regular pay on average at the height of the pandemic, according to a new report.

The Clean Clothes Campaign said it means that millions of garment workers, who were already struggling to make ends meet on poverty pay, were left without billions in wages for the months of March, April and May.

In some regions of India, workers received only half of their regular pay, according to the report entitled ‘Un(der)paid in the pandemic’.
