PHILADELPHIA – Material science firm Tandem Repeat has received $1.5 million in funding from the United States Department of Defense to help it scale up the domestic manufacturing of bio-based fibres and textiles.
Working alongside Arctos Technology Solutions, an established aerospace and defence contractor, Tandem will use the funding to build up its fibre from plant protein manufacturing capability with the investment targeted at its fermentation and spinning capacities.
