Italian brand faces criminal action over worker abuse claims

MILAN – Prosecutors have launched criminal proceedings against luxury leather fashion and footwear company Tod’s and three of its senior executives over alleged labour exploitation in its supply chain.

It marks the first time an Italian fashion house, and its management, have been directly targeted in such an investigation. The case centres on working conditions at six subcontracted workshops employing 53 predominantly Chinese workers.
