US House of Representatives votes to extend African Growth and Opportunity Act and Haiti’s HOPE/HELP programmes

WASHINGTON DC – The US House of Representatives has today passed legislation to extend two critical textile trade preference programmes affecting Sub-Saharan Africa and Haiti, securing a lifeline for apparel supply chains after the schemes lapsed last autumn.

The Haiti Economic Lift Program Extension Act and the AGOA Extension Act received bipartisan support, providing a three-year retroactive extension of both programmes dating back to their expiration on 30th September 2025.
