Trims solutions specialist Trimco Group has announced a partnership with UK technology company Zappar to integrate accessible QR codes into apparel and footwear labels, as the industry prepares for the EU's Digital Product Passport (DPP) regulation.

The collaboration uses Zappar's ZapVision technology, which combines a standard QR code with a dot-dash pattern that allows detection from greater distances and delivers spoken product information — enabling people with vision issues to independently access product data.

"As industries adopt QR-based Digital Product Passports at scale, these experiences must be inclusive by design," said Max Dawes, COO at Zappar.
