Renewable chemistry specialist Avantium partners with Casa da Malha and Lacatoni to develop plant-based PEF sportswear prototypes
AMSTERDAM — Dutch renewable chemistry company Avantium has unveiled plant-based sportswear prototypes made with its polyethylene furanoate (PEF) polymer in collaboration with Portuguese textile manufacturer Casa da Malha and sportswear brand Lacatoni.
The partners have produced PEF-based yarns, knitted fabrics and a prototype sports shirt, which are being shown to buyers and mills at the Milano Unica trade fair in Italy from 7th–9th July.
