French biotech company links with brands to produce recycled polyester T-shirts from complex textile and plastic waste on European industrial lines

CLERMONT-FERRAND — Carbios says it has produced recycled polyester T-shirts from complex plastic and textile waste on European industrial manufacturing lines in partnership with Patagonia, Puma and Salomon.

The French biotech says the work validates the potential of its enzyme-based recycling process across polymer production, spinning, knitting, dyeing and garment assembly. It follows three years of collaboration through its Fiber-to-Fiber Consortium.
