Case studies in Ghana, the Netherlands and Germany examine how biological processes could tackle textiles that recycling cannot recover
SEATTLE — The Biomimicry Institute has published three case studies examining ways to break down difficult textile waste and turn it into new materials.
The studies mark a new stage in the institute’s Nature of Fashion: Design for Transformation initiative, launched in 2020. The projects test different responses to waste that conventional recycling struggles to process.
