The cotton programme claims stronger farm requirements, data tools and traceability will support regenerative practices among partners’ supply chains
GENEVA — The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) says it is now operating as a regenerative standard system, completing a transition announced in 2025.
The organisation says its revised requirements, farmer support and impact measurement are intended to strengthen regenerative outcomes and help brands set sourcing targets. BCI’s standard covers more than a fifth of global cotton production, according to the organisation.
