    The opportunity

    The Reporting and Tool Analyst position is responsible for tool creation and maintenance, creating reports, performing ad hoc analyses, and providing data driven recommendations across Cascale’s membership, operations, and Higg Index suite of tools.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Manage and support survey specifications
      • Lead and oversee survey specifications, working closely with Higg Index subject matter experts to update and maintain survey specifications written in a domain-specific language.
      • Collaborate with technology partner Worldly to update and extend survey management DSL, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
      • Ensure efficient use of internal meetings and manager’s time.
      • Maintain, test, and build tools in domain-specific language, managing and building workflow automations for tool development.
      • Design, refine, and expose KPIs and key operational measures in collaboration with Cascale subject matter experts.
      • Create and manage reports based on data stored in relational databases like Postgres and exposed in cloud-based reporting solutions.
      • Perform ad hoc analyses on disparate data sources using Excel, SQL, and other data analysis tools/languages to power business decisions and inform external reports.
      • Drive industry insights using Higg Index data in collaboration with members and stakeholders.
    • Create and manage operational reporting for Cascale teams
      • Develop and manage operational reporting for Cascale teams, including finance, operations, and membership engagement.
      • Identify key performance metrics and operationally significant measures in collaboration with domain subject matter experts.
      • Manage a reporting platform and create on-platform reports to expose metrics and measures to business partners.
      • Provide training to staff on report usage and continually improve content and presentation.
    • Support Cascale work streams with ad hoc insights and analysis

    Qualifications and Experience

    Ideal candidate has:

    • Bachelor’s or domain relevant professional degree
    • Strong analytical abilities to interpret data, identify trends, and draw actionable insights.
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages including Python, R, Julia, or Javascript.
    • Experience working with data processing architectures and cloud-based reporting solutions.
    • Ability to learn and work with domain-specific languages (DSL) for tool creation and maintenance.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in at least one programming language besides SQL.
    • Experience in maintaining, testing, and building tools using domain-specific languages.
    • Familiarity with workflow automations and tool development best practices.
    • Experience creating and managing operational reports for internal stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in data visualization techniques and tools to present insights effectively.
    • Strong project management skills to manage multiple tasks and deliverables simultaneously.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex information clearly and concisely.

    Reporting Structure and Timeline

    This is a full-time role, reporting directly to the Director of Higg Index Product, with a planned start date of March / April 2024.

    Compensation, and Location

    Cascale offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience. Salary bands are based on the country of location. If this role is hired in the US, the starting salary band is $95,000 – $105,000. Cascale is a global organization, and as such, Cascale staff sometimes work early or late hours. This position is a full-time flexible/remote position, based in either North-America, Canada or in the EMEA. Local and international travel will be required to meet prospects, execute / attend events and participate in team meetings.

    Position Description

    The Coordinator Higg Index Verifications is an integral part of the team responsible for building, maintaining, and improving verification programs for the Higg Index suite of tools. The goal of verification is to ensure that the Higg Index and its related tools are trusted and credible measures for sustainability performance and benchmarking, with scores that can be leveraged for performance improvement and public facing communications.  This role requires an expert in supply chain management and a keen understanding of the dynamics related to “audit fatigue” with an interest to meet industry verification needs in a different way. The successful candidate is someone who is a subject-matter expert and is experienced and confident in managing program contractors and facilitating stakeholder engagement.

     

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    This position will have a technical procedures and process focus, requiring high attention to detail, very good writing skills, and analytical thinking. After an extensive onboarding process, you will work mostly autonomously on maintaining specific procedures and processes that you will own, while also completing various tasks related to the general area of data quality and integrity.

    Main areas of responsibility include:

    Technical document revision/enhancement

    • Continue maintenance and enhancement of specific documents associated with the current verification program, including but not limited to: Verification Protocol, QA Manual, and VB Requirements.

     

    Manage verification program operations

    Various engagements and sources of information will inform improvements to existing processes/ protocols/ procedures/ manuals/ policies (framework). It is the role of the Verification Coordinator to obtain the information, evaluate it and act accordingly to ensure the framework is aligned with best practice, user needs and Cascale’s needs. Such engagements and sources of information include:

    • Weekly engagement with the Verification Manager and the VPM staff, as well as regular meetings with the Member Expert Teams.
    • Monitoring of KPIs to measure effectiveness of the current framework. The Verification Coordinator will also work closely with the Verification Manager to ensure the right KPIs are measured.
    • Proactive benchmarking and comparison of Cascale’s framework with other comparable systems.
    • Outputs from data quality checks implemented through technology, such as automated quality checks run for each assessment report. And data quality information shared by the other Cascale teams.
    • Helpdesk tickets, complaints or investigations, feedback forms, quarterly VB calibration meetings
    • Liaise with Facility Tools, Communications, Worldly Support teams to ensure suitable information on and explanation of the framework are available on the Helpdesk and to stakeholders. This may entail development and delivery of presentations/ recordings through webinars, trainings, training materials and videos.

     

    Special project support

    • Assist Verification Manager with 1-3 key projects that are identified in our verification evolution strategy.
    • Tasks may include research, benchmarking, drafting documentation (protocols, procedures) and/or presentations, project planning, engaging with stakeholders (e.g., through interviews), and similar tasks.

     

    Other areas of responsibility include:

    • Assisting the Verification Manager with preparation and execution of Member Expert Team meetings involving Cascale members and select stakeholders.
    • Drafting memos, (research) reports.
    • Proofreading reports, presentations, etc.
    • Drafting communications on data quality and integrity to assist the Verification Manager and the Membership team to better communicate our process to stakeholders
    • Handling of technical Helpdesk tickets associated with Verifications
    • Assisting the VPM with preparation of quarterly VB Calibration Webinars

    Position Description

    The Finance Associate will be required to support the day-to-day aspects of accounting for a global industry association with operations in the US, Europe, and Asia. The Finance Associate will support and assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, budget and grant reporting, month-end/annual audits and accounting processes across the organization. This role will be collaborating with internal departments to reconcile any accounting discrepancies, analyzing financial data and assisting with audit  preparations.

     

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Accounts Payable:

    • Support with maintaining financial relationships with service providers, addressing inquiries, issues, and facilitating payments.
    • Assist with setting up vendors for payment, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
    • Maintain a tracker for all vendor contracts and collaborate with staff on contract renewals.
    • Assist with the review of purchase orders, pricing, payment terms, and other charges for accuracy.
    • Assist with the monthly processing of expense reports and employee reimbursements.
    • Assist with filing 1099 forms at year-end.

     

    Accounts Receivable:

    • Assist with creating and issuing invoices to members and stakeholders in accordance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures.
    • Assist with maintaining and updating member and stakeholder files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions. This includes updating tools such as Salesforce and QuickBooks Online.
    • Assist with maintaining, copying, filing, and retrieving materials for accounts receivable as needed.

     

    Grant Management/Support:

    • Assist with grant administration and liaise with project teams for reporting and issue resolution.
    • Monitor and track grant expenditures, ensuring compliance with grant guidelines and regulations.
    • Maintain records of all grant-related documents and correspondence.
    • Assist in grant budgeting, reconciliation and financial planning for grant-funded projects.
    • Generate financial reports for grantors and internal stakeholders.

     

    General Financial Reporting and Administration:

    • Maintain organized records, files, and documentation.
    • Assist in month-end close procedures.
    • Support the preparation of monthly financial reports, ensuring they are timely, accurate, and compliant with agreement terms.
    • Assist with keeping accounts payable & receivable policies and procedures up to date while maintaining historical records.
    • Assist with annual financial audit requirements.
    • Familiarization with accounts payable and receivables processes for potential operational backup.

     

    Qualifications & Experience

    The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in finance, accounting or related field with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience;
    • Experience in financial management of projects and/or grants;
    • Good understanding of accounting, including revenue recognition and audit requirements;
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent oral, listening, and written communication skills.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
    • Capability to work independently while collaborating with staff.
    • Keen attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
