SHARM EL SHEIKH – Leading fashion firms including H&M, Inditex, Kering and Stella McCartney are amongst the inaugural signatories of a Canopy-led commitment to purchase more than half a million tonnes of ‘next-generation’ alternative fibre for the textiles and paper packaging sectors.
The collective agreement was announced at the ongoing COP27 summit, held this year in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
“We are thrilled to advance this commitment with forward-looking partners who are willing to challenge the status quo and in doing so provide a breakthrough for these game-changing technologies,” said Canopy founder and executive director, Nicole Rycroft.
