LONDON – Clothing tech company Vollebak has created a t-shirt made from pulped wood and algae which it claims is completely biodegradable inside 12 weeks.

The company's Plant and Algae t-shirt is made from algae grown in bioreactors and pulped eucalyptus, beech and spruce from sustainably-managed forests.

When users have finished with the US$110 (£85) t-shirt, they can compost it or bury it in the garden where it will be eaten by worms within 12 weeks.
