MANCHESTER – Fast fashion brands should harness their strong market positions and online outreach to ‘normalise’ sustainable fashion items, says a senior fashion lecturer at the University of Manchester.

The comments made come after recent findings from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) calculate the extent of textile waste globally to amount to around £414 million per annum, due to clothing underutilisation which is subsequently discarded.
