HERZOGENAURACH - Sportswear giant Adidas is to launch new fabrics made from recycled polyester and marine plastic waste, and expand the product lines that use them, to help reduce plastic waste.

PrimeBlue, a performance fabric which contains Parley Ocean Plastic, is already included in some of the brand’s most popular products like Ultraboost 20 running shoes and in the strips of some of the world's biggest sports teams.

Later this year, Adidas will launch PrimeGreen, another performance fabric which contains no virgin plastic, which the company says will also feature in key competitive products.
