PHNOM PENH – Cambodia’s General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) has instructed travel officers to be more lenient and help facilitate shipments of raw materials to compliant firms and those in special economic zones, as the country reels from raw material shortages due to the fast-spreading coronavirus.

The GDCE has also extended the green lane customs clearance system – which fast-tracks shipments where routine inspections would otherwise be executed – as it looks to ease the pressure on native manufacturers.
