LONDON - Ten of the UK fashion industry’s innovative and sustainable small to medium enterprises have been awarded more than £1.2 million (US$1.5 million) by the Business of Fashion, Textiles and Technology (BFTT) research institute.

They include Ananas Anam, the company that has created an innovative natural textile made from pineapple leaf fibre, along with Anna Glover, AwayToMars, Blackhorse Lane Ateliers, Chip[S] Board, Doppelhaus, Elvis and Kresse, Segura, Tengri, and Tibor.

The programme, led by University of the Arts London in partnership with some of the UK’s leading universities, is part of the Arts and Humanities Research Council's Creative Industries Clusters Programme (CICP), funded by the UK Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund.
