DHAKA – The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has threatened to blacklist British apparel retailer Edinburgh Woollen Mill (EWM) after ignoring calls to pay suppliers for fulfilled orders during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The BGMEA, with support from the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), has subsequently written a letter to billionaire EWM owner Philip Day, issuing an ultimatum: pay up, or your custom isn’t welcome.
