LUBBOCK - The Textile Exchange has launched a new report which analyses the textile industry’s progress toward the sourcing of more sustainable materials and articulates a vision for post-COVID-19 strategies.
Textile Exchange's 2019 Material Change Insights Report reveals that reporting companies sourced nearly 40 per cent of materials from preferred sources in 2018, saving one million tons of greenhouse gases by switching to materials with lower carbon footprints.
Sweden was leading the race to the top, with 12 Swedish headquartered companies accounting for 40 per cent of the preferred materials reported.
