LONDON - Garment manufacturing was the supply industry worst hit by the COVID-19 pandemic with 86 per cent of companies suffering a downturn, according to a new report by ethical sourcing organisation Sedex.
Analysing data from more than 1,000 businesses, employing nearly 600,000 supply chain workers, to understand the ongoing challenges of the pandemic, it is a follow-up to Sedex's May 2020 report, COVID-19: Impacts on Business.
The new report explores how the actual impacts have differed from the initial concerns reported by suppliers in April 2020, and how they are adapting in response to the realities of the pandemic.
