CHRISTCHURCH - The New Zealand Merino Company (NZM) has launched what claims to be the apparel industry’s first 100 per cent regenerative wool platform in partnership with brands Allbirds, Icebreaker and Smartwool.
The ZQRX platform builds on the NZM's ethical wool platform, ZQ, and so far involves 167 sheep farms representing 2.4 million acres of regeneratively farmed land in New Zealand.
NZM says that with regenerative farming practices representing an effective means of sequestering carbon, the ZQRX framework offers a considerable opportunity to mitigate climate change.
