JERUSALEM – The Israeli Cotton Board (ICB) has provided a positive update on its trial of a chemical marker technology and blockchain platform within cotton supply chains.

The organisation announced a partnership with product authentication solutions provider Security Matters (SMX) in March, as it looked to assess the impact of tracing technologies from field to fashion.

ICB chief executive, Yizhar Landau, told Stockhead: “Traceability and transparency of the organic cotton and conventional cotton supply chain is critical to the Israeli Cotton Board, as it not only enables accurate verification, certification of the origination where the organic cotton is grown, but also enables the full traceability of the organic cotton fibres, from farm to final cotton products and garments for our buyers and their customers.”
