CALIFORNIA – Madewell, an apparel brand of the J.Crew Group, has launched a new resale service in collaboration with online consignment store ThredUp.

The service will enable customers to return their unwanted denim jeans in exchange for US$20 credit, ThredUp will either sell this stock on their marketplace or pass it along to a recycling partner, depending on the item’s quality.

By 2023, the pair aim to have collected one million pairs of jeans – double what Madewell has collected in the past six years through its existing denim trade-in programme.
