DHAKA - Garment factory owners in Bangladesh are seeking support from the US and the European Union (EU) in vaccinating the country's garment workers against COVID-19.

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) president Faruque Hassan said the mass vaccination of garment workers was the only way to protect the industry which was vital to the national economy.

He has written letters to US Ambassador to Bangladesh Earl R Miller, EU Ambassador Rensje Teerink and also Marks and Spencer country director Shwapna Bhowmick appealing for help.
