DHAKA - German textile discount store chain KiK has donated money to purchase COVID-19 vaccinations for thousands of garment workers in Bangladesh.
The company donated the money through the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) which said it would be forwarded to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare which is responsible for the country's vaccination programme.
The size of the donation has not been disclosed but BGMEA president Faruque Hassan said it would be sufficient to vaccinate thousands of Bangladesh's garment workers.
