SYDNEY – The Australian Wool Growers Association’s director, Chick Olsson, has urged caution over rhetoric surrounding a 2030 ban on mulesing, calling it “dangerous”.

Olsson, who also developed Tri-Solfen, a pain relief product for alternative breech modification techniques, told Sheep Central that establishing such deadlines had divided wool growers and “almost destroyed” the industry.

“There should be no deadline to end mulesing and it should never be mentioned again,” the director said. “People should have the confidence to use those tools if they see fit.”
