NORMANDY – Chemical recycling specialist Loop Industries has selected a site in France on which to build its first European processing and manufacturing plant.
Working with environmental services group Suez, Loop will establish the infrastructure to collect waste materials and scale the manufacture of recycled PET resin, which can be used in place of virgin polyester fibre or plastics for packaging.
Agnès Pannier-Runacher, France’s Minister Delegate for Industry, said: “This investment will contribute to the transition of our country towards a more sustainable, low-carbon economy. It is a milestone of the development of circular economy technologies.”
