LENZING - Austrian fibre manufacturer Lenzing has published its 2021 sustainability report which it claims shows it is on track to achieve its goal of halving its carbon emissions by the end of the decade.

Entitled 'Linear to Circular', the report reveals that Lenzing reduced Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 10 per cent against a 2017 baseline, and used 100 per cent renewable electricity at four of its production sites.

Emissions actually rose year-on-year but Krishna Manda, the company's vice president of sustainability, explained 2020 emissions were impacted by the COVID pandemic so the comparison was made with 2017 and 2019 instead.
