ROCKFORD – Outdoor apparel brand Merrell has launched a new footwear take-back and resale initiative across North America, with the ambition of saving more than 300,000 pairs of shoes from landfill.

Merrell ReTread, which will be available to customers across the US and Canada, has been introduced as part of the firm’s broader ‘This is Home’ campaign, which will aim to inspire people to get outdoors while minimising their environmental impact.

“We believe the outdoors is a place that people can always come home to, and that is why we are committed to preserve and protect the places we recreate,” commented global brand president, Chris Hufnagel.
