CALIFORNIA – Secondhand fashion specialist ThredUp has encouraged consumers to boycott a pop-up event by fast fashion firm Shein. 

ThredUp is incentivising people in San Francisco, where the event gets underway today, to shun the e-tailer by offering its customers a 40 per cent discount when they use the code ‘SheOut’.  

According to ThredUp’s Resale Report, 62 per cent of shoppers believe fast fashion retailers encourage people to buy things they don’t need.
