YANGON - The Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) will later this month publish the findings of what it says is the most comprehensive study so far into the human rights implications of continued sourcing from Myanmar.
Brands and retailers Aldi South, Bestseller, H&M, Inditex, Marks and Spencer, New Look, Primark and Regatta, along with the Fair Wear Foundation, funded the independent sector-wide study commissioned by ETI to explore how best to apply the UNGPs in Myanmar.
Earlier this year, ETI urged western companies to stop investing in Myanmar, because of the human rights situation following the military coup in February last year, but stopped short of advising them to stop placing orders.
