ISSAQUAH – US apparel and accessories wholesaler SanMar Corporation has announced that its carbon emission reduction goals have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

The Washington-based business aligned with the SBTi framework last year, committing to establish scope 1-3 reduction targets in line with the latest climate science and, specifically, the Paris Climate Agreement’s 1.5°C pathway.

“Establishing audacious science-based targets is a landmark moment for SanMar and our industry," said Emily Gigot, senior manager of sustainability at SanMar. “Collectively, we must all do our part to avoid the worst impacts of climate change, and this framework provides us with a roadmap to reduce our emissions in line with climate science.”
