BRUSSELS - The Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) has published its response to the European Union's (EU) mandatory due diligence proposals to make brands liable for human rights and environmental issues in their global supply chains.
The ETI was among an alliance of garment industry NGOs and manufacturing associations from key supply chain countries which last month urged the EU to take a "risk-based" approach to the legislation.
It has now published its detailed recommendations for the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence (EU CSDD) directive after consulting extensively with its corporate, NGO and trade union members.
