BRUSSELS - European legislators are expected tomorrow to make a last ditch effort to agree a deal on legislation to make brands and retailers liable for human rights and environmental issues in their global supply chains.

However, it is believed that any deal on the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) could include major concessions - potentially including the dropping of a proposal to target key sectors including textiles.
